Madison County Chamber of Commerce President's Message

Dear Fellow Chamber Members:

Entering into a new decade is an exciting time for the oldest Chamber of Commerce in Madison County. Even though we are an 89 year old Chamber we are a very Modern Chamber that’s not afraid to get out of the box, break a few rules and do it our way. I feel this is certainly a time to look at doing things a better way, a new way, and a more productive way.

My focus for 2010 is “Embracing Business.” Quality communities, the ones where businesses want to locate and where people want to live, require a thriving economy. The Chamber has helped make the County what it is today: one of the fastest growing, highest per-capita income Counties in the State of Mississippi. My focus for the Chamber is to meet the needs of our many premier business investors, and continue to attract both small and large businesses to the County. We will do everything we can to promote the County to attract new quality business, and enhance the quality of life in the County for our residents.

We offer quality programs, or as I like to call them, products. The premier product we have offered for over 20 years is Leadership Madison County. We have Business University, Council of Governments, and a new Young Professionals group, “Zip 39”. We produced the first Dragon Boat Regatta in the State in 2008, and have expanded the production this year, as not only as a community and team building event, it has been designed to be the centerpiece of corporate retreat events in the future thus bringing together regional competition and statewide business retreats.

Being a Chamber which is totally funded by memberships, key business investors, and events, demonstrates how we have the commitment of leading businesses, business people and involved citizens. We not only mean business, we produce results. I invite you to come see for yourself, become a part of the excitement of Madison County, and help not only the County grow, but to experience growth yourself.

Respectfully, and at your service,

Dan Grimmett, Broker Crye-Leike Realtors
2010 President of the Board of the Madison County Chamber of Commerce
